Opportunity, not charity
Dhaaga began with a simple observation: beautiful textiles were being thrown away, and skilled women had nowhere to earn from their craft. We put the two together.

How a piece is made
Reclaimed saris and offcuts are sorted, washed and cut in the workshop. An artisan chooses the panels, matches the colours by eye, and stitches the piece from start to finish — one maker, one piece. It is then photographed, given its own product number, and listed here.
Where your money goes
Every sale is recorded against the artisan who made the piece. Her hours and earnings are tracked in the workshop's own books, and what the venture earns goes back into materials, wages and training for the next batch of women.
Every thread creates an opportunity.
